ALEX Scott admits it was “tough to watch” his close friend Antoine Semenyo stretchered off at the weekend, adding: “It’s gutting really.”
Semenyo has had a few injury issues since joining Cherries, but has been one of their key players this season, with eight goals and two assists from 33 appearances.
The Ghana international was nominated for March’s Premier League player of the month award, such was his form for Cherries.
But the 24-year-old’s season looks set to end early, after going down during the closing stages of Sunday’s 3-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Scott, who previously played with Semenyo at Bristol City, told the Daily Echo: “It’s gutting really.
“Think how good he’s been in the past few weeks and months, he’s been unbelievable.
“He’s someone who we’ve relied on heavily and to see him go down like that, in the pain he was and to be stretchered off was a tough one to watch.
“I obviously saw him in the changing rooms after and he was upset and in pain.
“But the staff here are going to monitor him and we wish him all the best, all the players, staff, everyone at the club is going to be right behind him.
“That’s the most important thing.”
