Some men wear ‘boxer shorts’ as undies and also to go swimming in.
Some prefer plain briefs as underpants (‘It was just pants to try to sop streak’, Daily Echo, May 26).
It is often difficult, when visiting the beach in this fine weather, to be absolutely certain who is wearing plain briefs, or plain brief swimming trunks.
The only real difference is in material.
In years past, underpants were made of quite thick, and often itchy material, and some swimming trunks were made of incredibly thin silky type of material.
Surely the PC brigade could find something more worthwhile to raise their tinny voices about, and the police are hard-pressed enough as it is, just dealing with real serious offences.
