With reference to your article Gay Parade Facing Bus Route Opposition, (Daily Echo, May 23) I think that this is an outrageous stance for Yellow Buses to take.
In the past when Yellow Buses was municipally owned there was never an problem with town centre parades.
The stoppage is only for a short time and everyone enjoys the fun. Suddenly we can’t have a parade because a big business says “no”. What next?
Will they insist that the utilities never dig up a road on a bus route in case it causes delays to their precious services?
I seem to remember when Yellow Buses was sold.
Transdev, the new group that took over, promised to work with the local community.
This is not working with the community. It seems more like homophobia to me.
