I think maybe Eddie should revert to playing MR at left-back overlapping with MP on the left-wing with RF running the right-wing. Just those three alone should bamboozle Coventry's defence with quality service to our strikers and able back-up from midfield. 3 points tonight boys - UTC!

I wonder what timescale our beloved comrades have in mind for keeping an interest in our club. When we don't go up this year, Heaven help us if they decide to walk.

Agreed - We have all seen this happen to other clubs when chairmen with cash suddenly get bored. i.e the 'BOOM AND BUST' syndrome.

What's with the when we don't go up? we have 12 games left and we are 2 points off the top!!! nothing has been decided yet and we are right in there!! As for the comrades, why would they jump ship after such a short time here? Denim didn't bring back Eddie to just drop him if he misses out this season, it's not even his team!!! Next season I would say 99.9% certainly was the aim for promotion, if we do go up this season it will be ahead of schedule!! Can't fathom why some people are so keen to see our Russian contingent leave when they have hardly had their foot in the door!!

Right now for Ritchie's comments, we have the quality to open up sides, 57 goals are proof of that, and we would be better right now with having MR play at left back and Fraser in the right wing, it would look more balanced and give us wing backs on both sides, also the pace would be very good indeed!! Now is not the time to be cautious, we have to go for it in these games if we want the prize at the end of the season, I think the lessons were learned on Saturday and fully expect a far more attacking performance tonight!! This team has so many outstanding match winners when they decide to turn up their skill with there feet is a pleasure to watch however there lack of skill in the thinking department is evident for all to see. some times its like watching robots that cannot decide for them selves when things need changing. and the last 2 loans in are an embarrassment Seabourne is no better in fact much worse than Zubar and if Meades is no better than Painter then release the guy as Painter looks to be on a personal mission to un-hinge our promotion on his own. Both have now weakened our defence immeasuraley. Ed sort it before its too late we all have our favourites and no likes to be told that their baby is ugly however sometimes take it on the chin. Prediction for tonight is a 2-2 draw.

Sheff Utd were happy to take a point but ended up with all three, as I stated last Friday that whoever scored first would win the game which proved correct. If we had taken the lead then it would have forced them out a little more. But they were content to defend their lead knowing full well that we did not have the height, craft or 'souse' to open them up.

The problem AFCB have is that we do not have enough steel and or aggression within our play. Many have stated on here that this is the business end of the season where we have to be able to win 'ugly' when required. Unfortunately this is true. Sheff Utd are master-class at this as I have seen them and other bigger clubs do this before in order to get promotion. Ed himself stated that they are used to getting promotions as in the plural and they know how to go about it.

Tonight will be slightly different as Coventry need to actually win the game in order to reach the play-offs. That should leave us with more room behind them.

Unfortunately, our defence is suspect with the loss of Elphick and Daniels therefore, I can see Coventry scoring more than once against us tonight. Hence, my prediction of a 2-2 draw.

But folk's if we let them take the lead then we will be in trouble and the same outcome as Saturday is very likely

Persoanlly, I believe that Painter is a good left back. His problem at the moment is his lack of match fitness. Also I believe that the state of our pitch is hampering his and our play.

Anything short of three points tonight and with a worse case scenario of every one else around us winning along with their games in hand them then automatic promotion will undoubtedly be lost tonight.

Personally. I believe that Mr Jontee's post stating that our true postion is between 7th and 10th is a fair assessment. In contrast we have had a good season so far with a dodgy start so I believe we need to get things into perspective.

Hopefully we will prevail tonight, but with both Elphick and Daniels missing I feel this will cost us as it did at Preston and at home last Saturday.

We do need to be more ruthless. I and no doubt other posters believe that we need a target man in order to change things round when are current front two are not penetrating enough. In other words give the opposition something else to think about.

You seem to know an awful lot about saturdays game considering you were in Northampton scouting an under 8's match, which it seems is about your level. Get yourself down to DC more often and perhaps your negative views "might" be curtailed a little...... REGARDS.

The hallmark of a good team is if they bounce back convincingly after a couple of poor performances. In the past Eddie's teams have always managed to do that. We have not suddenly become a rubbish team, but we clearly miss Elphick and Daniels.
For me Ritchie has to play left back tonight as Painter is clearly not at match level yet. I would also like to see Fraser let loose on the right, but whatever team Eddie picks they HAVE to get the three points tonight. We are into the last quarter of the season and there's always one team at or near the top that bottles it. It had better not be us!

Dont understand some of the comments on here.Really bloody negative.Weve had a great run and we lose a couple of games and the hatchet men turn up(you know who you are).Dont agree about getting a target man as it distracts from playing football,the long ball is nt the way forward for a footballing side like us.Coventry are a good side,but we are as good or even better in some areas,we just need to get at them and show no fear which we do most of the time.Afcb 2 coventry 0...cmon boscombe!!!.Some of the posters on here need to go to some games.

Use google Chrome, and the problem (rather than half the letters you've typed) will disappear. Now please, will all the doom-merchants please stop panicking. When the fixtures were printed last summer, February always looked like it could be a tough spell, and events have conspired against us to make it doubly so. That said, I think we've got enough about us to get the right result tonight, but even if we don't, it's not the end of the world. We'll stay right in the mix until the very end, and after the Donny game is out of the way, the only contender we'll still have to face is Tranmere on the last day, whilst there are still plenty of other games where the others in the top 7 are playing each other. We'll be fine for a play-off spot at the very least, and wiping that smug grin off Danny Wilson's face at Wembley would be very enjoyable. After all, he has a great record of losing play-off finals!

When was the last time you actually predicted that we'd WIN a game? Even when everyone's fully fit you have "doubts" that we're going to get a result and "hope for a draw at best". I seem to remember back when Groves was ruining everything you were posting with positive glee that you were right with every game we were losing.
Anyway,regards your defensive worries,i agree it's not ideal but we have players that can fill in the vacant roles i.e Ritchie at left back and Dan Seaborne doing a decent job at centre back. You've mentioned before what happens if we get any more defensive injuries?Well,in short,let's hope we don't!And if we do that's what the loan market's for.We've been without Tommy and Charlie for a few games now but have only hit a brick wall in the last 2 games,this is for the team to be a bit more clever going forward rather then everything being in disaray at the back.Against Preston we were plaing a team with a new found freedom after getting rid of an unpopular manager and against Sheff Utd they had a fully fit team to choose from and even then didn't test Jalal,only scoring after a mistake from Painter.This is the same Sheff Utd who recently lost home games to both Yeovil and Hartlepool.Everyone will hit a sticky patch,some have had theirs,some have theirs to come.Let's hope ours were the last 2 games and we'll be back on track tonight!

Playing Ritchie at full back is a massive mistake playing him out wide in midfield is where he should be and he normally works well with an overlapping fullback. You wont see the best of Ritchie at full back we should know we had him long enough to know his best position.
If Ritchie is played right he will terrorise defences and always had two players on him as soon as he got the ball but that is where the full back came in and supported him.
His balls into the box were sublime and you will miss that if he doesnt play wide in midfield.
His work rate is 110% but he is not really pacy but if you have the skill and technique that he does that mkes up for it.
i'm surprised Howe is playing him at full back especially as he played for us for two years at wide midfield and why do managers do that when they know where a player normally plays ok you had a couple of injuries at the back but even so Ritchie is an attacking player and holds the ball up well to bring other players into the game.
Coventry are a strange team and do well away and it could be a tough game for you tonight we have them on saturday so it will be interesting to see how you get on.

Coventry are a strange team and do well away and it could be a tough game for you tonight we have them on saturday so it will be interesting to see how you get on.

All well and good, but the problem is the overlapping full back (Charlie Daniels) is the injured player missing. We're not putting MR there out of choice, but necessity. OK, we've brought a left back in on loan from B&H, but he's so out of sorts, Eddie's pulled him off at half time in both his appearances to date. I'm pretty sure EH knows where Matt Ritchie can be best put to good effect, but that's an area where we have options, whilst at full back we're a bit short.

Sheff Utd were happy to take a point but ended up with all three, as I stated last Friday that whoever scored first would win the game which proved correct. If we had taken the lead then it would have forced them out a little more. The problem AFCB have is that we do not have enough steel and or aggression within our play. Many have stated on here that this is the business end of the season where we have to be able to win 'ugly' when required. Unfortunately this is true. Sheff Utd are master-class at this as I have seen them and other bigger clubs do this before in order to get promotion. Ed himself stated that they are used to getting promotions as in the plural and they know how to go about it.

Tonight will be slightly different as Coventry need to actually win the game in order to reach the play-offs. That should leave us with more room behind them.

Unfortunately, our defence is suspect with the loss of Elphick and Daniels therefore, I can see Coventry scoring more than once against us tonight. Hence, my prediction of a 2-2 draw.

But folk's if we let them take the lead then we will be in trouble and the same outcome as Saturday is very likely

Persoanlly, I believe that Painter is a good left back. His problem at the moment is his lack of match fitness. Also I believe that the state of our pitch is hampering his and our play.

Anything short of three points tonight and with a worse case scenario of every one else around us winning along with their games in hand them then automatic promotion will undoubtedly be lost tonight.

Personally. I believe that Mr Jontee's post stating that our true postion is between 7th and 10th is a fair assessment. In contrast we have had a good season so far with a dodgy start so I believe we need to get things into perspective.

Hopefully we will prevail tonight, but with both Elphick and Daniels missing I feel this will cost us as it did at Preston and at home last Saturday.

It does truly amaze me some of the comments from certain individuals on here and how some folks can only see the negative side. Now, don't get me wrong, I do not ask they stop making their posts, free speech and all that, however understand you look ridiculous. This is not based upon one or two emails, but months of some of this garbage! How you cannot get excited and feel positive about what is going on at the club, I fail to understand. Let me put it into perspective. At the BEGINNING of the season, no Bournemouth fan would have turned down a guarantee of being in the playoffs during February. Now, what about that same guarnantee being made at the time EH came back!!!
With all the doom and gloom stuff going on in the world, there should be no reason that ANY posts on here contain more negative than positive comments - if written by a truly balanced, adjusted individual. You get back what you put out...actions, thoughts etc. There are books on the subject! I predict a win tonight (even if we were bottom of the league). Regardless, I certainly won't be on here groaning tomorrow, if the result doesn't go our way! Perhaps I'll spend that time with my kids instead....something positive anyway. C'mon you reds!
