Cherries: Lowe acted like a man possessed says Elphick (From Thisisdorset)

Really hope it's not too bad for you Tommy as we all know how good you've been as our captain!!!

If it happened in the Prem it would be all over the national news with people saying, LOWE LIFE, should be banned for x amount of games not just the 3. Hope Tommy is ok. The only shame is that we wont be playing MK Dons next season to give LOWE LIFE SOME STICK ,as we will be in the Championship. UTC.

Definitely worth more than three game ban for serious violent conduct. Any news on just how bad the injury is (pre-scan?)

I was at the game it was far worse than it looked on the TV. The ref almost shoved him off the pitch too.

Seeing as Tommy declined to inform the Daily Echo as to what Lowe had said to him and his team-mates on the pitch, it's not quite a "no holds barred" interview. In over 40 years of watching football, I don't think I've ever seen a more blatant attempt to injure a fellow pro, and whilst the ref did act in the only way he could, I feel AFCB should ask the Football League to take a look and consider an additional penalty, due to the exceptional circumstances involved. This was no mis-timed tackle or error of judgement. It was assault, pure and simple. Let's hope the outlook for Tommy is not as bad as we fear, as he is the rock on which our strength is based.

Teams are running scared of us. Its such a shame some players feel they have to take it in to their own hands (feet) to take us out of the game.

It would be totally irresponsible on the part of the FA if they did not look into this tackle and dealt with it as a carer threatining challenge. This is an act of GBH and the police should be involved.

No it wasn't assault. It was GBH, premeditated, with malice aforethought. The sole intention was to take Tommy out without a single thought about a fellow professional's career, his family or anything else.
Needless to say, the gin soaked, pin striped fools that infest Lancaster Gate won't even look at the video or pictures, particularly today's excellent picture in the Echo. Look at the animal's eyes. Fully focused on Tommy's leg. and nothing else.

How right you are Fanfor45 ! I suppose it just shows that no one is perfect, not even EH because I think he has really dropped a clanger here. If Cook goes down it will become an even bigger clanger.

Elphick goes off and Ritchie comes on. That says it all. Apart from the fact that we didn't sign Bartley (hotly tipped and wanted by so many), this transfer window has been a big disappointment. True, Eddie has got rid of the 2 dud dutch signings, but we are awash with midfielders and wingers yet we sign 2 more. At the same time, knowing Cook could go down, we send Zubar away. This has hardly corrected the imbalance in the squad, and I believe these decisions could cost us a play-off spot.

I always feel a team will go through a bad spell. We haven't had one yet (I don't count the first 11 games. Our season started in October.) So chances are we will go through one soon. No team can keep up the amazing form since Eddie arrived. And the top teams are lining up for us.

What I saw on Saturday was an awful tackle from a very experienced player who to think we coveted just over a year ago. This is going to happen unfortunately because of the jealousy and the fear factor from all the other front running clubs.

For all of those that went to the Franchise
stadium on Saturday which I must say is superb but wasted on that town, "great effort"
and up the cherries.

A poor transfer window? Are you stupid? Matt Ritchie was wanted by Championship clubs and could easily have gone to one but he wants to play very week and knows there is a massive chance he'll get to the Championship with Bournemouth. I thought it was an excellent transfer window, we got rid of all the driftwood like Davids & Demouge, lost no one of merit and our defence is fine. Seaborne and Cook will play centre (Cook's going nowhere, have you been following the case?) and Zubar has a recall agreement. Francis can also play centre and with Ritchie able to play at the back and Daniels Addison close to returning what's the issue? As for a bad run, there is always 1 team that doesn't have one, maybe with a bit of belief and support that might be us, and by goodness we have had one bad period, every game under Paul Groves.

As others have said, other teams fear us for once. So they should. Someone is going to get hit for 6 soon when Pitman & Grabban convert all the great chances we make. Maybe Saturday?

Just seen the tackle on tommy. I've been in local football for a good number of years as a player and manager. If any of my players made a assault like that they would never play for me again. FA do something about it. My very best wishes go out to tommy. A great player and captain.

It was a dreadful tackle and may yet put Tommy out for weeks and whilst I haven't been following Cook's trial the jury resume their deliberations today and there is a possibility that we could lose him as well. I hope that there is a recall clause in Zubar's loan agreement, he will at least have had some competitive games under his belt should there be a need to recall him. At least, we should know the best or the worse within the next 48 hours, and the emergency loan window is soon to open.

The thing that i find most abhorent is all those poor little kids in their East stand will probably idolise Lowe and grow up thinking that type of behaviour is acceptable. Such a shame.!!!!!.

I would hope that if that moron Lowe does eventually offer a personal apology, that Tommy will be the bigger man and accept it.!!!!!

I 've just viewed The FA's disciplinary list and I'm afraid that Lowe has only been suspended for 3 games as he was found guilty of "Serious Foul Play" rather than "Violent Conduct" which may have held more teeth. The difference between the two is that the first one involves a challenge for the ball whereas the second one doesn't and will normally be a kick, punch or butt intended to hurt not injure. It's obvious to anyone who's seen the video or pictures that Lowe had no intention of challenging for the ball; his sole intent was to injure Tommy and that should carry a far greater penalty than a three game ban.

Three things strike me about THAT TACKLE
1) The global chest-beating apology from Lowe, which stops just short of the neighbour's dog, misses out the only one to whom he should be aplogising - namely, Tommy Elphick
2) Lowe's comment that it's all part and parcel of football MUST NOT be true. Were that level of response to a confontational situation to happen outside the walls of stadium.mk I suspect more than three games would be missed. In my opinion, behaviour on the football pitch should be treated no differently to that outside of it.
3) Were the FA to review the footage I don't believe there would be much more than the usual gnashing of gums and little else. Perhaps the finance and media coverage extended, quite rightly, to stamping out racism, combatting anti-family behaviour in stadiums etc could be extended to dealing with violence on the pitch such as we witnessed on Saturday..

I was there on Saturday, but............ I was in with the home fans!!! In the East stand. The reason is that my son is a MK fan (Oh the shame), he has been for 8 yrs. and we toss a coin before the game against each other to see which end we sit in cos he's to young to be seperated during the game. (I lost both tosses this season!!) He supports AFCB at all other times. The Dons fans sat around me were disgusted with Lowe as well and made no excuses for him. They don't think Robinson will let him off lightly. The noise from our end was fantastic from start to finish, well done all. When Arter scored his wonder goal I coudn't help myself but stand up and cheer and clap. To my amazement about 25 of their fans sat around me did the same (though not the cheering part!) Don't rib me too much, I'm contemplating hypnotherapy to try and correct his 'problem'. Each to their own in my view!

It's fascinating to see different peoples views unfold on here. The two sides of the defensive argument are this. As stated earlier I am a great fan of Zubar and would wish him straight in to the side in the present situation to partner Cook. However, Seaborne IS a centre-back and did well on Saturday. End of prob? Seemingly. With Partington having played in defence and done commendably well, there are options with/without Addison who is getting closer to fitness. Summary; get Zubar back as cover or in the side and ALL options are covered.

Loan window starts on thursday.

Can I shed some light onto these so called negative comments.

I have to say that sometimes I find it necessary to read some of the comments several times before I can make heads or tails of what is being said. I put that down to the fact that English wasn’t my mother tongue before I settled in the UK back in 1965.

I have discovered that I can be quite clear about what I wish to express (at least that is what I think!) only for someone to come along and interpret what I am saying totally the opposite way. Philosophically speaking ‘that’s life’ as they say!

None of us delight in having egg on our faces so when we are confronted we go on the defensive, as one or two examples above would indicate.

As I get older I have come to realise that saying something is one thing and communicating it in writing is another (this verbose explanation is an example of that).

So why don’t we learn to accept other people’s point of view; challenge when we feel that we can do so; leave alone when we are not clear about what we want to say and have the humility to say I got it wrong instead of trying to wriggle out of it.

I would not worry about the defensive situation because I feel we have the bases covered.

Tickets for Sheffield Utd and Coventry are selling out fast. I really struggled to just get a pair of tickets for anything apart from row A - F. Do not fancy getting wet and so row P it is ;)

Now, as i recall in your reply to my comment about Groves you actually implyed that Groves could possibly/likely have been a good manager in the championship. The thing puzzling me is how many decades would we have had to wait for him to get us to that level. Under Groves we looked more like Conference than Championship contenders.

How many more times do you need to be told Matt Ritchie was bought to play on the "RIGHT" side which is where he played for Swindon. Your "supposition" that his natural position is on the left due to the fact he is left footed is somewhat at odds with the MODERN GAME. Since you have probably scouted Matt on numerous occasions for umpteen clubs i would have thought that you would have known all this already though.

It was intended by the supposition that Ritchie was to play on the left of midfield where he normally plays and where Pugh currently plays, so relatively speaking this could have invoked the feeling that Pugh could be on his way and that a deal MAY have been done for him. It was reasobably possible that this scenario could have happened.

Th only thing that worries me now is how long Elphick would be out for and Ed dillying over recalling Zubar if he can that is. We now have no cover in defensive postions of which could cost us promotion if not addressed.

It's fascinating to see different peoples views unfold on here. The two sides of the defensive argument are this. As stated earlier I am a great fan of Zubar and would wish him straight in to the side in the present situation to partner Cook. However, Seaborne IS a centre-back and did well on Saturday. End of prob? Seemingly. With Partington having played in defence and done commendably well, there are options with/without Addison who is getting closer to fitness. Summary; get Zubar back as cover or in the side and ALL options are covered.

Not withstanding the fact Seabourne has been involved in 4 promotions in 5 years i believe he is more than capable to step in. An awful lot will depend on the outcome of Cooks court case as to whether we need Zubar back or not.
Eddie is no mug and would have given it serious consideration before allowing Zubar out on loan. I am not one of those that dont believe in Miles Addison either when fit, he is dominant in the air and in the tackle but just needs to work on his distribution.!!!!.

Lowe lifes face looks possesed, he shouldn't be aloud to play again. Some anger issues need sorting before he is ready to face other players on a Saturday afternoon. TE is lucky to only miss a few matches, and so are we!!!
