O'Kelly: Cherries star O'Kane should be rewarded for fair play (From Thisisdorset)

We had already lost the game when it happened.

We were still in the game when it happened, it was the goal that killed off the possible come back. Hope the young lad has learned a valuable lesson about ref's, bizarre to say the very least!! O Kane has been outstanding for us in recent weeks, just forget this once in a lifetime mistake, you thought a ref saw a foul, won't make that mistake again!!

Trouble is if he did hear a whistle and carried on playing and kicked the ball into the crowd, he would of been booked for kicking the ball away a no way win situation

Where does the ref live...? Rivalry?

I would expect this when I ref games for u11-12's, not a L1 pro. Time to concentrate on the next game, athough maybe he should play sweeper with his hands strapped to his sides in training today.

Snow has all now gone from the Victoria Park playing surface ahead of Tuesday night's League One game against Bournemouth.

The pitch is wet but playable and high winds are helping with the drying process at the moment.

Eddie has done a fantastic job and as previously he has got the team punching above its weight. The play-offs remain possible but even that is a big ask, with many other challenging teams above and below us.

The hopelesly unbalanced squad thrown together by Groves still requires much rationalisation. January is drawing to a close so hopefully there will be some movement to offload the dross and the misfits. Better to buy in the summer when prices are lower.

What on earth is Richard O'Kelly on about. Fair play award for what? He thought the whistle had gone for a foul by Cookie, so he picked the ball up to speed up the taking of the free kick as we were chasing the game. Nothing abnormal in that, apart from the fact that he misheard the whistle.

and your not wrong now, or then. But the dream is still alive, although if we remain off the buffers, then not for much longer. We still have a lot of games against top teams and we have to start winning against them to claw points back. It was always going to be a tremendous ask, none of us would of thought otherwise and to be honest, if we did only end midtable, so what. Like you, I believe the close season gives Eddie/Jason time to totally sort the squad out. But there's no harm in dreaming and getting behind the team regardless... UTCIAD

Good call Pete. One loss in 16 is hardly cause for great concern. Eddie & Jason will pick the boys back up, and hopefully we will embark on another long unbeaten run. Top 2 is still achievable, we have still to play many of the top teams most of them at DC so "KEEP THE FAITH", get behind the boys and lets see where it takes us. Most fans wouldn't have believed we could have been in such a good position now, given the terrible start to the season. We have a great squad and terrific leadership so i for one will not be giving up hope with 57 points still to play for.

Agreed with your original post Jontee, at the time. A huge effort has been put in by the players to get us into the position we now sit in.
Other teams have had a bad spell and are now pushing on again.
It will take a really special effort for us to step on the gas again, and increase our efforts even further during the next three months.
We have the players but do they have the "legs".
The return of Macdonald and Pugh will make a huge difference..

One of those games where most things went wrong. Having said that still fancied us to get a draw when the incident happened.
