Cherries: Arter focused despite speculation

IMPRESSIVE: Harry Arter
HIGHLY-rated midfielder Harry Arter is vowing to focus solely on Cherries’ promotion push amid speculation over his future.
The 23-year-old was this week linked with Premier League clubs West Ham United and Fulham in an article in the Daily Star.
Arter was also left flattered by glowing praise from Jamie Redknapp in the former England star’s column for the Daily Mail.
Londoner Arter has earned rave reviews since emerging as a key player for Eddie Howe following the manager’s return to Dean Court.
The central midfielder has scored five goals and chipped in with three assists for Cherries in 24 appearances this season.
“It is nice to be linked with two really good teams,” admitted Arter, in an interview with the Daily Echo. “But I haven’t really focused on that or taken any of it seriously.
“The most important thing is playing well for Bournemouth and trying to get us up into the Championship.”
Arter, who was handed a new contract by Cherries in October, tying him to the Dorset club until the summer of 2015, also earned a mention from ex-Cherries and Liverpool midfielder Redknapp.
Under the headline ‘Arter the artist’, Redknapp wrote: “Keep an eye out for Harry Arter of Bournemouth. He can play.”
Arter said: “To be recognised by someone like Jamie is a massive compliment.
“He judges the game at a top level and for him to give me a mention was fantastic to read.
“Any good press is always good to read but it is important for me not to get carried away and just try to focus on what I have been doing.”

There is no harm in getting recognised for this skills but as we see him more than Jamie Redknapp and other pundits, we obviously see a different Arter.
If I remember correctly Wigan scored from his poor pass!!
More importantly is today's game still on?

Disciplinary record aside Arter is one of the finest talents we have.
9.30 pitch inspection at Walsall.

snake hips wrote:Now that would be a strong midfield. I like Arter but he just needs to keep the ball a little bit better. That aside he's been excellent past few weeks. I'd bring back marv anyway just so we can sing the silly song!
cash in on him, bring back bartley and pair him with okane..

lofty1971 wrote:Yeah! I agree with you lofty. Alongside Marc Pugh probably the most talented player in the squad. It would be a shame to lose Harry to a premiership club, quality creative midfielders don't come along that often and he would be difficult to replace. Ok, he slipped and gave away the ball for the Wigan goal on Tuesday, but nearly made up for it, only for the keeper to pull off a top class save. His goal against Swindon last Saturday was quality and he won a well deserved man of the match award for his performance. Let's hope some of the negative comments from so called supporters, doesn't sway his decision to leave the club. Good luck to the team today on a dodgy looking pitch at the Bescot today. Three points is a must to keep us up in contention for promotion.
Maybe, just maybe it shows that those involved in football know what they are talking about.

.
We are going there after the tough game with Wigan in Tuesday with fatique coming in to play here and also with three keys player possibly missing, bearing in mind that walsall have on four of their last five games!!
.
If we were at home then we miht get away with the injuries but we are away to a side with some form.
.
I am just fearful about this one.

As far as midfielders go, he's a poor marker, weak tackler (legally), poor header. Never marks anyone and is consistantly passing the ball to the opposition. Usually we get away with it but the Wigan game was a prime example.
Marry all that up with the fact he can't stop gobbing off all match at the officials makes him one of our poorest players.
There are too many better midfielders than him. Cash in and get rid.

The only thing Arter is recognised for is the odd goal.
