Great game tonight, the Cherries can be proud of their efforts, just one thing, Wes Thomas jog on !!!!

Firstly, well played Wes Thomas, I thought he put in a great deal of effort with little reward, my ONLY criticism was the final defence splitting ball, or lack of it, but it really was a fabulous performance and in the end SO unlucky not to atleast take it to extra time.

I agree AFCBpete what a team we were great game and we created more chances than they did.UTCIAD

Thomas could work the defense more which would make it easier for the defense splitting ball to come through. A stricker isn't just to stand and wait for the ball, there is a lot of ' off the ball' work to be done.

Gutted to be out of the F A Cup but well done the lads after a very hard fought game Saturday in those conditions and then to put another massive shift in tonight we were so unlucky. Can't argue with the goal that won the match for them unsaveable. Well done boys hold you're heads high you have just frightened the life out of a Premiership Team for the 2nd time in 10 days. My son-in-law was there tonight for the first time. After the game he said 'I can see why Bournemouth have gone unbeaten for so long' he thought we were by far the better team and we were.

Back to the more important league now and hopefully three more points next Saturday.

My wife and I were right down near the corner flag by the South End, probably the worst place to be, but thoroughly enjoyed the performance and effort put in, especially bearing in mind the short recovery time from Saturday. Will you be at the Pompey game? I'm back in the North Stand :)

The boys did us proud..O`Kane just gets better every match.Inspired substitution ( bringing on Habsi) probably save the day for Wigwam.My only niggle is playing Barn-Door Thomas, think any of our other forwards deserved a chance more than him and personally i thought he could have done more with the ball- he saw enough of it.

Now for the league then, well played tonight AFCB good footie and very very entertaining.

I was really suprised when WesT started tonight but would say it shows intent of him staying and he did OK mostly alone up front. Well done to all the team good effort and can't criticise anyone, the way Wigan played for time from the first half showed they were worried by us. Hacked off by how easy they hit the ground we're not a rough team and if thats premiership class you can keep it!
Onwards to Walsall eeuuup the football league we go!!!!

Great performance and we were so unlucky.

Pollitt had his thigh strapped up first half so Al Habsi coming on was a natural substitution.

Must admit i did not see the shove on Daniels.

However i thought that one of Cherries players was too honest in staying on his feet in the second half when fould in area

I have to disagree with some of the others in that I thought Thomas was the weak link tonight. Not once did I see him ask for the ball. Not enough movement from him either to create space for himself and others. A pity really as when he did receive the ball, which was usually with a man tight on him, he managed to not only retain possession, but also showed some neat touches in turning the defenders. That can't take away from his shortage of desire to be involved and work for his team mates.

A thrilling match though, which could quite easily on another night have ended up as 3-1 to Bournemouth. All except Thomas worked their socks off with O'Kane, Daniels & Pugh (almost an item!) and Hughes deserving a special mention.

Pugh has to start Saturday for me, he looks so sharp......Thomas looked so so. Howe needs to sort out his future quickly. Great spirit from the team tonight, we must push for the play offs from now.

I thought Wes did OK ,I think it was a tough ask tonight especially against the biggest wedgie in football ,no 25.What a unit he was. We just do not have anyone with the same physique as him or the same wedgie size and when you cross the ball he just fill's the 6 yard box
Apart from the superbly struck goal,which clinched the result, wedgie was the thorn in our side yet again when attacking.Good luck to Wigan in the next round but they know full well they have had a right battle tonight.UTCIAD

Hi Steady Eddie, Swindle fan here. I also listened to the commentary on five live but if I had been a true fan I would have sat anywhere to watch the game live. But there again being a season ticket holder I would have had no trouble selecting a seat as it would have been reserved for me before being offered for resale after a set time.

Wouldn't normal post but do read comments on other websites and recognise the poster from the Town site so he deserves a bit.

This season Town lost to Macc, fair do's. Last season your lot lost to Gillingham, so what.

Went last night for the first time since crawley away not a part time supporter but working in a bookies makes it harder to get sats off, but what a performance we deserved a goal but then again dicko could have wrapped it up with mins to go, firstly wes thomas credit for working up top on his own what a cracking first touch he has got shame he cant do much after that, 2nd francis should have gone down credit for being honest and 3rd why are we still getting involved with swindon supporters on here games over we drew unless we get them in the playoffs people need to let this so called rivalry drop its just boring seing the same idiots on here arguing, well done to all who made it last night first time ive ever had to wait half an hour to get into the ground tho

Hope this won`t be deemed a "dig" at EH but what ON EARTH possessed him to play Thom-miss (1 goal in last 25 appearances who does not want to play for AFCB) ahead of Matt Tubbs (4 goals in 6 starts this season who is desperate to represent the club he supported as a boy)? Poor Matt must have been absolutely devastated last night.

I dont like to knock any of our players but when you saw the graft that the likes of O'Kane and Hughes put in last night it does make you wonder if Thomas should have even been in the starting line up. Tubbsy or Brett would have offered a lot more threat. Thomas looks disinterested - thinking about his move to the Championship. Also I dont know why Eddie didnt start Pugh. His link play with Daniels is first class and it just wast working with Josh in that position. Looked much better when Pugh came on and Josh switched. Still, it was a great night and but fo the woodwork, twice and a fantastic save from Al Habsi (Pollitt wouldnt have got near it) it could have been our night. Despite the defeat I am sure that spirits are high in the squad and hopefully Walsall are gonna cop it.

it was enjoyable whilst it lasted, but we now have to return to the bread and butter football, it will be interesting to see how the team reacts to its first defeat in a long time, and as I stated in an earlier posting the strikers have to step up to the mark and provide the return in goals of which they are more than capable

Although from where I was sat I could not see a great deal of the 1st half in any detail, but was able to concentrate on Wes in the 2nd and I felt he did the best as could of been expected under the circumstances. It's as if some of you berate him for the sake of it because he has stated he wants to leave. I too wanted to see Tubbs playing, but I also trust Eddie's judgement and I'm sure his reasons for leaving Pugh in particular on the bench was to give the poor guy a break, he ran his socks off Saturday along with the rest. Wes WAS also trying to make plenty of runs, his frustration was that the ball was not being released quick enough and he had to keep holding back otherwise he was offside and THEN you'd be on his back for that. In the end it was a game we could of won, but didn't so we move on... UTCIAD

Their side may well have contained a large number of their reserves, as you put it, although all are part of their first team squad. It took a great strike to breach our defence, from a striker who cost more than our team and yours combined, and had Al Habsi not come on at half-time, it would have been a different outcome as he made a couple of outstanding saves. Are the games catching up on us? Who knows. We've had a run of difficult games, but from where we were in October to where we are now, the team is like chalk and cheese. And we only need to creep into the top 6 to make the play-offs, which I think we will. I don't think much else will change at the top of League One.

Really entertaining game bit unlucky to lose but great strike by that Wigan bloke.All played well but hard to know what to make of Thomas he did hold the ball up well at times and he is quick but he never looked like scoring.Fantastic that Eddies turned the club around but he cant be right all the time.Cant we get a big Centre Forward and lump it forward sometimes particularly with the crosses we get in.

As I have already said, Thomas hasn't it nothing offer, he doesn't want to be here and certainly has a low work rate, Mcquoid isn't half the player he was, as a result these two players wont bevgood enough for our next level - Championship, lets think sustainability once we are there.
