Cherries: Mixed feelings for Howe following Swindon draw (From Thisisdorset)

Not sure about the substitutions we seem to suffer in the midfield after the changes.It looked like the idea was to go for the second goal to kill off Swindon,but in hindsight with less than 10 minutes on the clock,perhaps we could have hung on!

Two good teams competing in a quagmire ! A fair result most would say and probably the stuff to maintain the interest of fans.

It's an astonishing run, and having recently played some of the teams up there fighting for at least a play off place, all the more remarkable. Well done to all at the club !!! UTCIAD

After watching the match on TV last night it's fair to say If the conditions hadn't been as bad they wouldn't have got that goal. It would have been kicked away to safety, unfortunately it stopped dead right at the foot of their player. Oh well, that's football.

If the conditions were that bad the ref should have stopped it at 70 mins. with the result standing, but he had no balls. Letting the challenge go in the first 5 mins. with no caution and keeping his cards in his pocket on numerous occasions. He should have dealt with PDCannio and not let him get away with his antics which only serve to put off opposing players and managers. It took him 20mins to answer one simple question on the radio interview and Solent wouldn't read out texts from fans referring to his antics while he was stood within ear shot of the presenters in case they started them off. Nothing but a bully in my opinion.

Think it's a bit rich accusing Eddie of being a moronic manager. Might of been nice to have some comments from Paulo to criticise, but unfortunately he was unable make any, having seen so little of the game.

The conditions suited Swindon and they must of been praying it wasn't going to get called off cos the only way they were going to score was if we made a howler, they are a good side but we were going through them easily, they would not of wanted to have to come back to dean court in good conditions. We still lack that killer instinct when we have good teams on the ropes and can't finish them off

Did swindon win promotion yesteday? The way they were celebrating after the game (fans, players and manager) you would have thought so. I think they know how lucky they were. They ripped us apart at their place and we have to accept that. But now they know who the better team, manager and fans are hence their celebrations. When the going gets tough they will fall apart like their manager

Swindon run of glory will come to a sorry end very soon and their will find it tough moving up to another league.Their were very,very lucky to get a point and the goal was not even a big effort and their fans though their would thrash us lol.Can't wait to face them in the play off's.

So you were not a teeny weeny bit worried when losing 1-0 with 5 mins to go then. Get real mate there was nothing between the teams or weren't you there.???. On the balance of play we just about edged it but the draw was a fair result. Swindon was the best side I have seen at D.C this season and the standard of football, from both sides, given the atrocious conditions was superb.
Really impressed by AFCB. Confident of making play offs but automatics a bridge too far.

Each to their own CC - but in PDC's defence he is a very passionate and enthusiastic manager who wear his heart on his sleeve. This does tend to baffle and wind people up, others say it is worth half the entrance fee to watch him on the touch-line.
With the interviews this also spills out coupled with the translation, it does a while to tune in to his thoughts.
With due respect PDC is the complete opposite to EH. and providing each are getting results, that is ours or your problem.

Great effort by our team yesterday and an exceptional job done by the grounds men who before, during and after the game were tending to the pitch in dreadful conditions. We were the better team and on a normal day would of won and shown our improvement.

First off I'd like to congratulate the player's from both teams for managing to put on such a skillful and entertaining game yesterday. The control of the football shown by both teams, was exceptional under the circumstances. We would have been fortunate to get all three points and it pains me to admit a draw was a fair result. Looking at the stats, they show there nothing between the two teams. You've got to give Di Canio credit, he didn't get them to sit back and try to score on the break. They attacked us from kick off. Di Canio is on record as having said there are 7 or 8 Bournemouth players he would have in his team. The one player we could do with is Matt Ritchie, thought he was their best player, hopefully Swindon are hard up enough to relent and offload him. Pugh and Ritchie on both wings would tear most teams apart. Well done to Harry Arter, cracking goal talking his tally to five.

After reading all the posts on here I can`t help noticing that all posts from `Highworth red` dont actually mention the game in any way at all. Hmmm!

I am pretty much with everyone else on this one, both teams cancelled each other out, played well to the condition ans it was always going to be sweaty goals of individual errors that decided the outcome. As for managers, Howe is a credit to all on how he conducts himself on TV and Radio and generally in front of the crowds, Di Canio however, is slightly differents, to all those who have done coaching badges at any level will be shown footage of a person conducting in the wrong way, it is actually the same behaviour as the Swindon manager, it isn`t needed in the game and the youth players should not be witnessing this, is there any question of criminal damage, I doubt it

Yes, we did GIVE you the 3 points when we played you at your place in September when Groves was in charge, but since then, Demin has called the shots when Eddie Howe was brought back and Mitchell has been told to calm down and we hardly hear from him now. Look forward to the end of the season when we meet in the play offs when i think the Cherries will have the upper hand.. In EDDIE HOWE WE TRUST

Poking them with a stick is getting a bit boring now Darren to be honest. Howe was a lower league player who will only manage lower league clubs, Paolo, despite the flak they have given him was a big time player and has big time ambitions as a manager. I truly believe we have a genuine shout at the autos with the man they all hate.

Town have had to put up with moronic comments from AFCB fans telling us all week its gonna be an easy win. Well it wasn't, and you were a little fortunate to get a draw. Howes comments are just as moronic, must be influenced by that uber moron chairman they have. Swindon are a team with quality and adapted better because they are the better team. My comments are in response to comments regarding Paolo by AFCB fans over the last week. We are as Loyal to Paolo for his loyalty, obvious love of our club and fans as you are to Howe. He's a typical Italian, loud, passionate, opinionated, what else do you expect, it's no excuse to be insulting towards him because of who he is.

Talking from a neutral point of view (having lived in both Swindon and Bournemouth), I am pleased to see both clubs fighting at the top end of the table. Both clubs have been though the mill when it comes to financial problems over the years and both have been relegated to league 2 and won back promotion to league 1. So for either club to be going for promotion to the championship is something not to be sniffed at.

If Bournemouth were to go up, I do think a bigger capacity stadium would be needed (and a fourth stand) because 9000 attendance in the championship would be by far one of the lowest attendances, based on statics from the last season. Swindon’s maximum attendance is 14000, this is also a low figure, particularly when top clubs in the championship are achieving 25000 to 30000.

Back in September when the two teams played I have to say Bournemouth were clueless, hence why Paul Groves was replaced a few games later. Step in Eddie Howe to turn around Bournemouth’s season, 18 matches unbeaten is a fantastic run. Paolo Di Canio has had the same effect at Swindon that Eddie has had at Bournemouth.

So to yesterday’s game, two very in form teams, to me it had a draw written all over it (an unstoppable force meets an immoveable object). Both teams gifted each other the goals, Swindon by mucking about and not clearing their lines, Bournemouth from a goalkeeping error. Both goals were well taken by Arter and Williams, and as for the rain it was awful, in my view the game should have been moved to the Sunday, as the weather was dry and sunny on the south coast. But as the old saying goes “what’s done is done ‘’.

I enjoyed the game, it was a great atmosphere. Should both teams meet in the playoffs then, arrhh no thanks ....... I would rather they both go up automatically .Good luck to both teams for the rest of the season. We will know the result come May?

He will manage at a higher level, but for the moment he has signed a contract extention and has vowed to stay and get us to the championship. That's fine with us.
