Cherries: Howe praises players after award nomination

EDDIE Howe deflected the credit to his in-form Cherries squad after being nominated for the League One manager of the month award for November.

Howe was today included on the shortlist for the gong having been recognised for transforming Cherries’ fortunes with a 12-match unbeaten run since his return to the club from Burnley.

Cherries continued their form under Howe last month as they registered three league wins and two draws, as well as an FA Cup victory.

The Cherries boss was keen to praise his players for their efforts during that fruitful period.

Howe told the Daily Echo: “They are the ones that deserve all the credit because they are the ones that go out and win the games.

“I am a firm believer in crediting the players who perform and that is not just the starting 11, that is the whole squad.”

Howe is up against fellow November nominees Karl Robinson (MK Dons) and Uwe Rosler (Brentford). Both bosses claimed five wins and two draws with their respective clubs during November.

Howe added: “I am pleased to be nominated. To be honest, it is not something I have given too much thought or time to. When you are trying to win games, your focus is always on the next game and how you can prepare for that.

“At the same time, it is nice to be given the nomination. It is nice because it means you have won games and that the team is doing well. It is a by-product of success so, hopefully, that can continue.”

The winner of the award will be announced on Friday.

We know Eddie is the man, but he doesn't need this curse! Give it to Rosler, I say!

I hate Colchester. They always seem to "park the bus". I remember us playing them at home a few years ago, and they didn't muster a single shot on goal for the entire match. Somehow, we still managed to lose, as we put the ball in our own net. Probably the worst game I've ever seen, anywhere in my life!

Hoping lightning never strikes twice then, maybe we can unlock the bus with a bit of McDermott-magic or Pugh-trickery!
COYR 3 more points, let's hop over Swindon!

Please no award as it is cursed...just a nice silver vase at the end of the season with some writing on it " AFCB champions Div one" etc etc.

In Howe we believe.

I don't want Eddie to win this award. Not because he doesn't deserve it, but because every time one of our previous managers has won it in the past we then go on a terrible run! We can't afford that with the busy Christmas period approaching.
UTCIAD!

Well done Eddie, you have got to be obvious choice, if they take into consideration your unbeaten record back at the club. I can't believe people are so superstitious regarding the dreaded manager of the month curse. Reminds me, I better look out my lucky winkle pickers and lucky underpants for Saturdays game.

My lucky pair of pants told me it's unlucky for EH & JT to win any awards until we get promoted! lol

Give him the award, don't think it will impact how the players perform or Eddie manages. Can't see eddie getting carried away and stop working hard. Usually just a sign that is hard to keep winning runs together over two months
