Pirates: Ford disappointed with Doyle comments

MATT Ford last night fired a parting shot at Swindon-bound Jason Doyle.
The 27-year-old last week completed a full transfer from Poole to the Robins – three months after claiming the Dorset side had “forgotten” him in their 2011 Elite League title celebrations at Wimborne Road.
Doyle rode the majority of that season’s meetings for Poole, but was ruled out of the two-legged Grand Final after aggravating a shoulder injury.
The Aussie told the Swindon Advertiser in September: “Not being in the last two meetings of the year for Poole really hurt me because I had worked all year for it.
“They forget you have done more than 30 meetings in the year to get you to that point and that hurt quite a bit.
“Middlo (Pirates boss Neil Middleditch) got me up on the podium after we won and that was nice because it showed he didn’t forget me, because a lot of the fans did.”
Ford, though, told the Echo: “Jason made his feelings clear about staying at Poole and his comments recently have been incredibly disappointing.
“He was very much part of the 2011 title-winning team, but we had to search him out from the bar to get him into the celebration pictures that year.
“But Jason was not happy at our club and I was not happy to have him here so, now he has gone, it is time to move on.
“He has obviously found something that suits him at Swindon so this is a perfect deal for all parties.”
