Cherries: Dutchmen line up against the Grecians

CHERRIES manager Eddie Howe will give Dutch duo Frank Demouge and Lorenzo Davids chance to impress in a reserve friendly tomorrow afternoon.
Howe is set to field a very strong-looking Cherries XI when he runs the rule over a number of his fringe players at Exeter City (1pm).
Demouge and Davids will be joined by a host of senior squad members as Howe hands valuable game-time to his men.
Wes Thomas will be given an opportunity to catch the eye following his return from a loan spell at Portsmouth.
The likes of Mark Molesley, Stephane Zubar, Eunan O’Kane, Donal McDermott, Joe Partington and Wes Fogden are also set to play.
The friendly match against the Grecians will represent a chance for marquee summer signings Demouge and Davids to show Howe what they can do.
Neither player has featured in the first team since Howe succeeded Paul Groves as Cherries boss.
An experienced striker in the Dutch top-flight, Demouge joined Cherries from FC Utrecht. But the 30-year-old has been restricted to just two appearances, the last of which saw him suffer concussion at Crawley Town.
Davids, cousin of Dutch legend Edgar, is a versatile midfielder who joined Cherries after being released by German club FC Augsburg.
Having signed a two-year contract, the 26-year-old has so far made three appearances for the Dorset outfit.

Good to see all the fringe squad players getting a run out.
We could do with at least one reserve game a week when there isn't a first team match.

Brett Pitman is a certain transfer target for manager Eddie Howe. Pitman has only played 3 times for Bristol City this season, albeit from the substitutes bench.
With Bristol City amongst the relegation zone, and the Cherries pushing for promotion, Brett could find himself in the Championship next season playing regular football.
This would be a brilliant transfer move for Bournemouth considering his goals to game ratio, and with Lee Barnard moving back to Southampton in January when his loan move expires, Brett would be the perfect replacement.

Can see why we sign Demouge but David's is a mystery to me. He looks a busy player but offers no creativity.
Davids is an extremely gifted midfield playmaker, when fully fit, our forwards will get hatfuls of goals UTCIADS

I think Brett returning to DC would be a great signing. Many supporters may not like his attitude, especially when things aren't going his way, but Eddie knows how to manage him and bring out the best of his goal scoring ability. This was proven before he left and can only have improved playing at a higher level for the last 2 years.
I like Barnard, but he wont score the number of goals that Pitman will.
