Cherries: Boss Howe looking at Molesley loan move

GAME TIME: Mark Molesley could go on loan GAME TIME: Mark Molesley could go on loan

CHERRIES boss Eddie Howe has revealed there has been interest in Mark Molesley with the midfielder in line for a possible loan move.

Howe, who says the 31-year-old remains a “big part” of Cherries’ squad, believes Molesley could benefit from getting game-time elsewhere.

Plagued by injury, the former non-league star has not featured for Cherries since a substitute appearance at Brentford on Boxing Day last year.

Fans’ favourite Molesley finished last season with League Two outfit Aldershot and he could be set for another loan deal.

Howe told the Daily Echo: “Mark has trained near enough every day since we have been back and he has improved with each training session.

“He hasn’t had a lot of football recently, as everybody knows. We are pleased with him. He remains part of our squad and a big part of our squad.

“I am open to a loan spell with Mark. I think he needs to go and get football and I have had that conversation with him, so we will wait and see what happens.

“But while he is here, he is also a useful member of our squad in terms of his flexibility positionally. He can play many different positions so he is fighting for a place with everybody else.”

Howe added: “There has been interest. I think there have been concerns over his injury record but he hasn’t missed a day of training since I have been here and he has looked really good, so I think he is getting on top of those problems now and, hopefully, he will remain fit.”

The question is: Will we ever see Mark playing competitive football in a Cherries shirt again - I for one sincerely hope so - UTC!

Think a number of the squad would benefit from going out on loan as training isn't enough. Would hope to see mark back with us though as his exciting style of play is great to watch but it's a long time ago since we have seen him

I wish Mark well and I am sure that a loan period, playing on a regular basis would hugely beneft him and his chance of playing for us again. Good luck to you, Sir.!
