LEE Bradbury is confident his new-look strike-force of Wes Thomas and Matt Tubbs will deliver – in any formation.
Tubbs reunited with his former Crawley Town team-mate when he joined Cherries for a club record fee of around £800,000.
The pair featured only briefly together for the Red Devils at the start of this season before Thomas signed for Cherries, initially on loan, in September.
Bradbury is expected to start both Thomas and Tubbs when Cherries face Exeter in their rescheduled encounter at Seward Stadium tonight (7.45pm).
And irrespective of whether he decides to go with two up front or with Tubbs just behind lone striker Thomas, Bradbury is backing the pair to be a success.
Asked whether he may deploy Tubbs in the hole against the Grecians, Bradbury replied: “I have spoken to Matt about it and he is comfortable playing there.
“But he gets a lot of his goals running off the shoulder of defenders so, if we play one up top, then we will have to see how we do with both of them in there.
“Wes and Matt are probably most comfortable playing as a two but I have got to pick a formation to get a positive result.”
Tubbs, who is set to make his first appearance at League One level, will be looking to add to his 18-goal haul this season, while Thomas will be hoping to improve on his tally of 10.
Cherries: (from) Flahavan, Francis, Cook, Zubar, Daniels, Fogden, Purches, Gregory, MacDonald, Pugh, W Thomas, Fletcher, Cummings, Arter, Malone, Tubbs, McDermott, D Thomas.
Grecians: (from) Krysiak, Tully, Archbald-Henville, Duffy, Coles, O’Brien, Noble, Dunne, Bennett, Taylor, O’Flynn, Jones, Nardiello, Logan, Bauza, Sercombe, Pidgeley.

The Echo keep saying Tubbs was signed for £800k when the actual figure has not been disclosed and the club have clearly stated it was nowhere near that figure. Continually restating that figure surely cannot help the frosty relationship between the club and the paper, so why do it?
Can't wait until the game tonight. I just hope the result goes our way in convincing style and the team can push on in the weeks ahead. The squad is definitely good enough now to put a run together and hit the play-offs.

If the club don't like it they should come clean. If that's not right then what is the real figure. They were quick enough to reveal the size of a previous failed bid (stupidly) so why go coy on us now ? Methinks they do protest too much !

.
The Echo quotes £800k, the Brighton Argus says £800k. On this occasion I am more inclined to believe the papers than the club.
.
As for the play-offs, just look at our run in. We are 5 points off Stevenage who have a game in hand and we have to go there. And there is also Carlisle, 5 points ahead. We have been scrapping out results and struggling against the poorer sides. Chesterfield was a defeat waiting to happen. Get real.
