ALEXANDRA Park gave further proof that they are serious Dorset Championship League title contenders by defeating reigning kings Greenhill 8-2 (51-48).

The 25-15 verdict of Verne Singleton, Bob Turnbull, Derek Ames and Alan Miller against Kevin Walbridge enabled Alex to maintain their unbeaten start at the head of the table, backed by the 16-14 success of Peter Willats against Steve Gait.

On the third rink, Mark Wanklyn fell 19-10 to Greenhill’s Barry Patterson.

Despite wins from Chris Nappin (18-16) and Keith Gentry (13-11), Wimborne were shaded 6-4 (47-46) at Bridport. Meanwhile, the only joy for West Moors in their 9-1 (67-42) eclipse by Dorchester was the 19-19 draw achieved by John Niblock against Adam Tidby.
