POOLE Town’s goalkeeping crisis has taken a turn for the worse – with boss Tom Killick forced back to the drawing board.

The Dolphins manager had hoped to secure the services of Martin Peters in order to quickly fill the gap left by influential stopper Jason Harvell, who has joined Bournemouth Poppies.

But the Wessex League champions are still on the hunt for a new number one after it emerged that Hamworthy United star Peters required a scan on his injured knee.

Killick, who was optimistic of luring the experienced keeper to Tatnam, has now been forced to look at other targets.

“Martin’s physio said he has possibly damaged his ligaments so he needs a scan,” explained Killick.

“It’s a difficult one because I don’t know how long he’ll have to wait for the scan and then what might come of it.”

While Killick has left the door open to Peters if he receives good news on his knee, he is having to look elsewhere and he revealed that one potential option could be Jamie Beale, who was released by Yeovil Town at the end of the season.
