WEST Moors blasted visitors Braeside 6-0 as home skips Janet Price (36-13) and Ann Jenkinson (32-9) took total control leaving the hosts at the top of the A Division on shot difference.

Lymington and Poole Park also gathered in maximum points against respective opponents New Milton (52-18) and Broadstone (50-35). Lakesiders skips Penny Cresswell (27-14) and Rosemary Spetch (23-21) supervised the victory at Broadstone.

Iford Bridge opened their account with a 4-2 (36-34) victory at Richmond Park with Val Farrant’s quartet (21-15) just edged out by the hosts’ winning skip Muriel Groves (19-15).

Bridge’s score was replicated at Redhill Park where South-bourne’s star turn of Shirley Winn, Liz Messer, Jan Dearling and Sue Dadson (25-15) comfortably covered Ethel Hanlon’s (17-15) effort for the home side.

B DIVISION

Swanmore swaggered into top spot with Doreen Durnford, Sandra Simmons, Jill Griffiths and Rosie Lester (17-13) backed by Jenny Osborne’s rink (18-16) leaving Richmond Park with nought to show for their toils.

Jean Ames, June Bell, June Leaper and Maureen Day brightened up a gloomy afternoon with a resounding 28-8 success for Broadstone at Argyll. It finished all-square 3-3 (35-35) between Pelhams and Wimborne. Mollie Lindsay’s ladies finishing on top (20-14) for Pelhams and, allied to Audrey Judge limiting the damage to 15-21, left Wimborne with consecutive league draws.

Pam O’Brien, Ann Cox, Barbara Paddington and Molly Shutler set Braeside on the honey trail demolishing West Moors 60-31. Olive Freeman’s rink (22-20) strove valiantly salvaging two points for the Moors.

Doreen Cummins, Myra Campbell, Pam Lawford and Dorothy Bond (28-11) were the premier rink leading Brockenhurst to a 4-2 (41-35) over visitors Ferndown. Barbara Brown’s foursome (24-13) earned the Dorset ladies two points.

C DIVISION

Bournemouth sent Verwood off home with nil points as Gill Hughes, Brenda Mitchell, Vilma Irish and Joan Cox (21-12) inspired the Belles’ other skip Joan Belcher to win (20-17) after trailing (9-11).

Kings Park retained their unbeaten tag after a close encounter (4-2) at Southbourne. Home skip Jill Goodwright saw her ladies pull through 22-17, only to be surpassed by Beryl Nuttall’s squad (21-14).

After their maximum pick-up last week, Fordingbridge found themselves on the receiving end at New Milton. Skips Mary Harper (20-8) and Liz Benson (23-17) steered the Hampshire club to a 6-0 triumph.

Valerie Snook’s quartet (25-20) laid the foundation in Highcliffe’s 5-1 win at Ringwood as Janet Emerson’s rink (15-15) hung on giving the Castle Ladies a well-deserved success.

D DIVISION

Pelhams’ second string hold the upper berth after cruising to a 6-0 victory at Kings Park.

Judith Jones, Ann Barber, Norma Grinter and Mary Gallimore (23-13) claimed top honours with Marian Hammonds’s rink (24-23) holding off a late charge from Kings Park’s Joyce Clough.

Pelhams’ club-mates lost out to West Cliff visitors Argyll 2-4 (28-34). Home skip Jean Perry (16-14) was surpassed by Mary Burrell-Davis (20-12) to keep Argyll’s winning record on track.

Branksome Park also remain unbeaten after a 4-2 (27-38) success at Highcliffe. Carol Williams, Stef Pinson, Maureen Matthews and Irene Button (25-5) fastened up the win while Sarah Rowland’s unit (22-13) averted meltdown for Highcliffe.

E DIVISION

With Poole Park on a rest day, Moordown prospered by taking over top slot with a 4-2 (38-36) win over Lymington.

Southbourne’s Marilyn Weigh (19-18) denied Braeside a maximum-match haul after Janet Beard’s quartet had amassed a match-winning total (30-12) for the hosts.

Richmond Park returned home with a 4-2 victory after just edging out Iford Bridge. Trish Gray’s squad (31-14) paved the way but although losing to Iford skip Glenda Quick (24-14), Ann Lodge’s ladies picked up a last-end three to win overall (40-39).

West Moors broke their duck with a 4-2 (42-37) win at Broad-stone. Rose Kirby, Linda Light, Elaine Hunt and Val Burton (23-26) covered Broadstone winning skip Cath Webb (21-19).

F DIVISION

New Milton’s first string endorsed the selection committee’s choices as skips Chris Mays (28-16) and Nancy Peckham (23-17) ensured that minds stayed focused by overcoming their club-mates 6-0.

Richmond Park avoided successive defeats as Hildine Remnant, Chris Read, Yvette Bonner and Jean Sharp (31-14) eclipsed Jill Archer’s golden effort (18-11) for West Moors.

G DIVISION

Only three fixtures played in this division, each being decided by a 6-0 margin.

Lyn Taylor, Carol Bryant and Hillary Jenkins (31-7) strongly supported by Hannah Rose’s trio (21-11) gave Branksome the spoils at Highcliffe while Poole Park skips Muriel Coombes (21-15) and Nancy Bennett (23-18) ensured that Argyll returned home with zero points.

Redhill Park, meanwhile, registered the most shots (57-25) in their home win over Milford.
