Club overcoming 'teething problems'

ALASTAIR Saverimutto has admitted Cherries' new chiefs have encountered "teething problems" since buying the club from administrator Gerald Krasner last month.

But Dean Court's chief executive, working closely alongside new owner Paul Baker, is confident they can overcome obstacles put in their way.

He said: "It's been a case of all systems go since we gained full control from administrators on August 7. The Sport-6 team has been working tirelessly to move the club forward.

"There have been several teeth-ing problems but we've been very restricted with certain facilities of the business with regard the process of coming out of administration and transition from the old company into the new one.

"Our credit card application was made the day we received the Football League share back, the earliest possible opportunity.

"We've been told the application process could take between four to six weeks. It was also pointed out due to the old company's previous trading, and with regard the current state-of-affairs across the country, the application would not be plain sailing.

"We still await an outcome and this continues to handicap our business. This also has an effect of purchasing tickets via the Internet. This will kick-in once our new credit card application has been completed.

"In July, the club announced a partnership with sports retailing chain JD Sports - the biggest sponsorship deal in the club's history.

"We'd love the shop to be up and running but we simply cannot open it until we've goods to sell.

"We've been told by JD the stock, which includes replica shirts, will be arriving next week.

"Once we've received the products, the shop will open. Once again, the whole administration saga has significantly caused us operational difficulties.

"Lack of sponsors and advertisers remains a key focus for us and will continue to be a very important area of the business as we progress through the season.

"This has been an exceptionally difficult and gruelling process, especially as goodwill and support for the club has been eroded due to historic negative events.

"We continue to invest in this area and have appointed Rob Mitchell as new commercial manager.

"Rob has a wealth of experience within football, particularly at Southampton as well as other organisations in the south.

"I'm very confident this part of the club will develop into a thriving concern."

" new owner Baker" i thought it was Sport-6 Savi`s company that owned the club hence 50/50 partnership ? Also didn`t Savi say recently that he had being working behind the scenes at AFCB since February ? As for the credit card situation , pull the other one. Please Savi, tell us more about this great deal with JD Sports, if its that good ? Do we get loads of money or do they ? Good luck to Rob and lets hope that we win today.

I must a admit with all the wheeling and dealing done behind the scenes for non playing staff I get a bit confused is the commercial manager Rob Mitchell a new appointment or have we known about him before. Excuse my ignorance on this one.
Okay lads the improvement starts today - it will be hard up at the Vale but might as well start there as anywhere else. Good Luck you Cherries.

you'd have thought the least phil chard could have done was say that this interview first appeared on afcb.co.uk. isn't everything on there copyrighted?

still it's the whole going the extra mile thing that means the echo is constantly battling to keep it's journalists from being headhunted by the nationals.

Would that refer to the way we did things under the last regime Good luck it will take a long time to repair that damage pay his loan and get rid of him and restore some financial credability

Savi gets stick for not telling us anything and then when he does it's still not good enough, I am getting really tired of reading all these negative posts on here day after day. I am sure that every one of those that post the rubbish they do could have done a much better job, although they never came forward to buy the club. Why is it that no matter what anyone does at the club it's attacked, how are we ever going to move on if this is the level of support? I can understand the frustrations about the shop and credit card payments but surely these are just annoyances and will soon be rectified. If we are ever to pull this club back up from the mire then we need to be a little bit more patient and a little bit more supportive, come on guys is this your club or not?

Easy tiger, got an awful hangover this morning! I know its negative but at the mo all I hear is a lot of hot air, where is this business plan Savi kept going on about?? Lets hear about that so we actually have a better idea of where and what they want to do with this football club, to me at the moment it all seems like a big ego trip for them.

much as we would all like the club up and running quickly the new boys have only been in charge 3 weeks, and any change takes time if done properly .

Three weeks.

Three sodding weeks and a million and one things to do.

Most of them more important than gassing about their plans.

But I would imagine the fundamental thing to do is actually let the fans know where they actually want to take the football club, thats how there going to make there money isn't it?? by the fans coming week in week out, and the longer fans are kept in the dark, they'll just get frustrated and won't come back, then watch attendences drop. By the way we've been out of administration for 3 weeks, they've actually been involved with the football club since i believe 17th July when it was first announced so thats actually now over 6 weeks.

Not me mate clearly having a pop at the old regime and sympatysing with Baker and Savi having to face the lack of trust built up by Good Old Jeff I will allways be gratefull to them for ridding the club of the cancer that was eventually going to kill it.

Bit unfair I just think they have just found out the extent of the previous mismanagement. It will take ages to sort and build up trust with suppliers ect. give em a chance We would have been dead now without em (God that sounds like the lame statements that the denial mob where saying about Mostyn)

Whilst I agree that these People need to communicate. Surely even the most biased on here remember how much truthfull info good old Jeff rushed to give them NOT so we should be happy that at least these people dont hide behind no comment all the time.

" weeks ago the chinese whispers went about there could be a coup and a further takeover of our club.
There was two supposed bids, of which one was definatly knocked back on Friday evening. I wonder if we have heard the last of these people, or do they really exist at all. Sport 6 whether you like them or not have on the face of it saved our club.Hower if you read carefully the article gives you the impression that the cash side of the buisness is already dwindling. If this is the case, I cannot expect Sport 6 putting in any more.
It will be either interesting or this whisper like so many others will go away. The new one going around is Harry cannot put money in to our club, but his missus can and who can say they have not done so already, as the club is near to his heart. Something surely will break on this.

Baker proberbly wants them where he can see them and cant pay em off yet

Maybe the non exec role for Sly will be in charge of the pie stall even at a discount we will soon have enough to buy Ronaldo if he buys them for his own and Bakers consumption

Must add my full support to the views of Macca 02. We should be grateful to the new owners in that we have a team playing at Port Vale today.Obviously, taki
ng over a club with a financial history about as bad as it could be, is not like a walk in the park.

Savi has apparently been around the club since February so he didn't exactly hit the ground running.

We don't expect miracles but communication is on a par with Mostyn.

For so called marketing people the jury is still out. Mind you if they dumped Bond (almost impossible with Uncle Jeff still around) Sports 6 would be the best thing since sliced bread.

WEll if Mostyn is in a non exec role like Baker and Savvimutto say, Then he will have no power so wont be able to protect Bond . So lets hope they have th b**ll**ks to do it

Bond has given these owners the chance to become overnight hero's let's hope they take up that mantle it will take the heat of the teething problems for sure, if they don't then I can see some very poor gates at the coming games, it's the only way the money men seem to take any notice. I say we back the owners get the change we all want and all move forward together.
