TESTS are being carried out on a foot which washed up on Chesil Beach, near Weymouth.
Police are keeping an open mind whether it belongs to missing Portland schoolboy Kyle Moore.
Kyle, 14, is feared drowned after the boat he was in capsized in Portland Harbour more than two weeks ago.
A Dorset Police spokesman said Kyle's family had been made aware of the find and are being kept informed of developments.
He said the foot was found by a man out walking on Saturday afternoon and prompted a further search of the beach by police although nothing further was found.
The foot was unclothed and is thought to come from a left leg.
It is now being forensically examined which will include a DNA test.
The spokesman said officers would be checking reports of missing people and liaising with colleagues from Devon and Cornwall Police.
