A CLIENT of a Dorset charity that provides home care to more than 900 local people performed the honours at the opening of its new shop in Poole.

Jean Foulger cut the ribbon to declare the Prama shop in Ashley Road, Upper Parkstone, officially open.

The Parkstone pensioner has benefited from the charity’s services for the last 10 years and is also a member of Prama’s Clients’ Forum.

The Rev Paul Holmes, pastor of the Baptist Church in Loch Road, led a time of reflection and dedication of the new shop. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of St John’s Church, Brendon Care, Prama staff and local people.

The shop still needs volunteers and welcomes donations of clothes, bric-a-brac and books. There are other Prama shops at West Moors and Tuckton, and a fourth is to open in Kinson next month.
