SNAP HAPPY: Matthew Le Riche and Geoff Taylor receive their prizes from Castle Cameras’ Brian Callow, left, and the Daily Echo’s Darren Slade
THE winners of the Daily Echo/Castle Cameras Air Festival 2012 photographic competition have collected their prizes.
Judges sifted through hundreds of entries before selecting Geoff Taylor to win the adult competition and Matthew Le Riche the junior contest.
Matthew, 13, goes to Burgate School in Fordingbridge and is interested in both aviation and cameras.
He said he was thrilled with his prize. “I’ve entered a lot of competitions before but never won,” he said.
Matthew won a Samsung SH100 which he plans to use while on a cruise to the Canary Islands next month.
Geoff, 50, who works for an electrical wholesaler in Moordown, has been a keen amateur photographer all his life.
“My dad was a photographer so I’ve grown up with it,” he said.
“He did all the advertising shots for his company.”
Brian Callow, managing partner of Castle Cameras, said judging the competition had been tough.
“There was such a high standard it was very difficult to select the winner,” he said.
The winners were presented with their prizes at Castle Cameras in Winton.
