Parking mad: Residents confused over whether to pay or not

Sue Cumberland, of Poole, said: “It’s a sorry state of affairs but it sounds about right for Bournemouth council. I will still buy a ticket anyway. I just feel like it’s the right thing to do.”

James Walsh, on holiday in Bournemouth, said: “My wife’s got a blue badge but otherwise I would buy a ticket. It’s not unusual for local authorities to mess up though, is it?

June Kerr, of Bournemouth, said: “I can’t believe such a major mistake could be allowed to happen.

“I’ll still buy a ticket though, I wouldn’t want to risk getting a fine.”

Scott Major, of Bournemouth, said: “It’s a bit of a bizarre situation if they’re still taking money but have suspended enforcement. The meters are either right or not.”

Gaby Hird, of Bournemouth, said: “I will be annoyed if they’re found to be illegal and I’ve been paying all this time. Parking is too expensive in Bournemouth anyway.”
