THE 100th anniversary event of the Whitchurch, Morcombelake and Ryall Flower and Dog Show went ahead successfully.
A tree was planted at the village hall on the day to mark the 100th anniversary of the show.
More than 650 people attended the event, with over 550 entries in the various show classes.
It was the third year of the hotly contested “men only” cake making competition, with the highest number of entries to date and 19 men fighting to win the trophy.
Richard Legg won the first prize, winning the cup back from last year’s winner, Paul White. Richard had won the cup in the first year of the competition.
On behalf of the organisers, Dave Alley said they wanted to say a big thank you to the event’s sponsors, stall holders and everyone who helped make the show happen, despite the worst of the British summer weather.
