Dorset Police hunt two women in connection with theft of pet chihuahua

LOST DOG: Tiffany a 3-year-old chihuahua is missing LOST DOG: Tiffany a 3-year-old chihuahua is missing

POLICE would like to speak to two middle-aged women who were seen in the area when a much-loved family pet went missing.

The pair, one blonde and the other with darker hair, were seen getting into a car when the dog went missing from outside a flat in Herbert Avenue, Rossmore, at 7pm on August 21.

Three-year-old chihuahua Tiffany, who is owned by the Gerber family, had been in a tent in the back garden with 11-year-old Chiara when the dog ran off.

Chiara’s brother Frederic, 23, said that his mother and sister had seen the two women, but did not think anything of it at the time.

Neighbours confirmed that the women had not been visiting them.

Tiffany was wearing a grey hoodie with pink piping when she disappeared but did not have her collar on. The family has been given a crime number and police are treating the incident as a theft.

Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 or the Poole animal welfare on 01202 261700.

Are you having a laugh? Firstly did you actually read which area it was stolen from?

Dognapping sometimes with ransoming demands has been going on for donkeys years......

Nasty people steal dogs for allsorts of reasons, breeding or dog fighting (although this is obviously not the reason in this case)

Dogs especially pedigree ones cost alot of money.

I cannot understand anyone leaving a dog tied up outside a shop or left in a car......I have pedigree dogs which cost me a lot of money so for me it would be like leaving a pile of cash outside a shop for an oppurtunist.

Hope the little dog is found asap

Oh dear hope the dog is found but honestly wearing a hoodie but no collar!! All dogs need collars and name tags and also to be chipped so they can be traced.

There's not much point in the dog wearing a collar - if they're naughty enough to steal the dog don't you think they might also be naughty enough to take off the collar? And a chip is only good if you happen to be looking for one.
I hope Tiffany the dog gets back home safe & sound though.

I hope the thieves think about the stress they have caused and return the dog, even if they pop it back in the garden.
Have a heart ladies, please pass the dog back, it must be terrified with strangers and you don't know it's likes and dislikes.
Do the right thing...make the owners smile again.

Its illegal for a dog not to have a collar & tag isnt it?

As for 'wearing a hoodie'.Dogs are animals not dolls.
