ROCK star Noel Gallagher made a surprise appearance at a Bournemouth restaurant ahead of his band’s appearance at the BIC.

The former Oasis guitarist and founder of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds found time for a quick Chicken Jalfrezi and Chicken Bahari at the Little India in Old Christchurch Road.

After washing down his meal with a Kingfisher beer, Noel found time to chat to eager fans who were amazed to find themselves dining alongside a legend.

Restaurant manager Aman Ullah said he urged customers to leave him alone until he had finished his meal.

He told the Daily Echo: “A group of six men turned up for a booking at 8pm on Monday and had drinks before ordering their food.

“When they ordered they asked for an extra couple of dishes and said someone else would be joining them. I recognised him straightaway when he walked in the door.

“I could see that other people had recognised him but I asked them to let him eat.”

It’s not the first time restaurant owner Abu Sorwar has served famous customers. In 2002 he transported a meal to the USA for rapper Ice-T and two years later served Jennifer Ellison at his Bournemouth restaurant.

The Toilet seat maybe to hot handle,

To be fair, it's not Noel Gallagher's fault that the Echo has yet again got suckered into free advertising for a local restaurant. It only seems like a 'celeb' has to drive through Dorset and the Echo gets hysterical.

By the way, who on earth is Jennifer Ellison?

Probably the biggest celebrity to have visited Bmth in years.Sorry I forgot we're spoilt with big stars like Little Mix and Rizzle Kicks. Noel does has God status next to the usual Bmth nobodys.

Very true.

All Noel wanted to do was have something to eat before his show. I imagine he would be as bemused as the rest of us to this 'story'.

Is this a newspaper or a local Hello magazine?

Is this a "news" story or advertisement for your local Indian?

Did this article arrive in Echo towers in the form of a press release or did it involve some journalistic reporting?

But as soon as he had finished his meal you pounced on him got a photo and sent the story straight to The Echo.

I think it's nice. At least Noel Gallagher has talent, as opposed to the mulititude of 'celebrities' we get thrown in our faces every damned day. I'd rather see news stories about people I can respect than waste-of-space characters like Jordan/Katie Price, et.al.

There are too many Indian restaurants in Bournemouth. Everywhere you look there are kebab/chicken joints, hookah bars and curry houses. This is Dorset not Tower Hamlets.

A complete "non-story". Funny how the proprietor of the restaurant stopped people bothering him while he was eating but saw nothing wrong in using him for a bit of free publicity. Pathetic.
