THE effort to build a carnival float is bringing a community together.

Members of Westham Community Group are working on a float which has ‘a lot of foliage’ according to co-ordinator Jacki Ranner, but she’s not giving much else away.

The group is hoping to build on the success of last year’s Noah’s Ark entry which won an astonishing four cups.

Jacki said carnival workshops had been running since earlier this year, giving everyone a chance to contribute ideas. Older people from Westhaven have also been getting involved as have youngsters from The Compass Centre.
