Resident Kirsten Weir, said: “There was a bit of concern because we’ve heard there were two shops to let and one of them could still be a take-away. We still haven’t heard exactly what is going in there though.”

Angela Haggett, who lives near the complex, said: “Something needed to be done about the centre and we are glad something is finally happening. But we’re a little concerned because it’s where a lot of young people hang about.”

Neighbour George Young said: “We’re quite happy about the development but we are worried about anti-social behaviour if there is a take-away there.

“There have been problems with anti-social behaviour.”

Was Monday "Bring your kids to work day" at the Echo?

Certainly looks like it after reading the two Co-Op stories!
