• Bournemouth Airport Concerns were raised by Yvette Greatrex from Hurn Parish Council about the potential loss of greenbelt land around Hurn, which is very close to the village’s conservation area.
She said the parish council does not consider there are exceptional circumstances to warrant the green belt change.
But despite the operational airport being taken out of green belt land, the strategy document says that future development will need to avoid impact on the village.
It states the removal of the green belt boundary “will not result in an encroachment into the countryside.”
John Twigg from Manchester Airport Group, owner of Bournemouth Airport said: “Confirmations of removal of the site from the green belt will give certainty to future investment, reflect the position on the ground and be consistent with national policy.
“It will also strengthen the ability to resist airport development outside of the Master Plan area as there will not be a case to suggest that very special circumstances exist to allow further purported airport-related development.”
• BURTON A development of around 45 houses has been proposed for the village of Burton.
Planners say the need provides “exceptional circumstances” for amendment to the green belt boundary and have allocated land to the west of Salisbury Road in the south of the village.
George Meyrick from Meyrick Estates, which own the land at Burton said: “We welcome the allocation at Burton.
“We will look to work with the community and borough council to achieve the best balance.
“The site falls partly within the conservation area so the development must be sympathetic to the village both in style and needs.”
• MARSH LANE Around 90 properties are proposed for this site with alternative green space provided elsewhere on the site.
Concerns were raised by Cllr Peter Hall about the pressures on the surrounding heathland and supporting infrastructure including school places.
