POLICE closed the road between Ringwood and Christchurch on Tuesday after an empty school bus collided with a car.
The accident happened at 2.15pm outside the Tyrrells Ford Hotel on the B3347 and involved a vehicle belonging to Solent Coaches.
It is understood the coach was on its way to collect schoolchildren when the accident happened. No children were onboard.
The driver of the car was been airlifted to Poole Hospital with serious injuries. The coach driver was uninjured.
The road was closed between London Lane and Kingston Villas for several hours.
