Weymouth and Portland Borough Council will be holding a by-election for the Wyke Regis Ward on Thursday, December 10, following the death of Coun Doug Hollings.
Coun Hollings had resigned from his long-standing role as a borough councillor for Wyke Regis shortly before he died last month.
Council elections officer Sue Bonham-Lovett said: “This election could have been called at any time, but by having it early in December we can ensure that the people of Wyke Regis are fully represented .”
