MPs will pay back money

BOURNEMOUTH MPs Sir John Butterfill and Tobias Ellwood are among those who will pay back further money that was claimed in expenses.

The new repayments, totalling £125,000, are being made by 41 MPs after the Conservative Party’s scrutiny panel reviewed claims, and are in addition to the £130,000 already being repaid by 60 of the party’s MPs.

Sir John Butterfill, MP for Bournemouth West, will pay back an additional £14,478.

Party sources said the repayments related to his servants’ quarters. This is in addition to the £3,000 he has already repaid.

Also repaying money is Tobias Ellwood, MP for Bournemouth East, who will repay £145 for household bills.

Poole MP Robert Syms was also on the list to repay £932 but Conservative Party officials admitted this was a mistake.

Ah, that's nice. They just repay it and nothing more said!!If it was Jo Public, we would have been arrested and taken to court,or fined heavily, but they get to be told,oh just pay it back there's a good boy!!
I wonder how much they have really got away withand this is just a sweetener?

Oh! So that is alright then? Of course this sudden new moral stand has nothing to do with being found out. They would have had this crisis of consience without the Telegraph's help of course.
We are not fools, two words that begin with 'T' and one is should become the other - Tobias and Toast.

£145.00 for Tobias Ellwood is that all. What about the £400.00 for food.£80.00 for repairing a fence at his second home.£178.00 council tax and other things. All bills that you and i have to pay.Seems like it self regulating again.

Let alone trying to get a new loft installed then flipping when that was refused. Toby still thinks he's better than any other person in Bournemouth. We can't find a single soul to match him. Embarrasing.

What about the £5k trip abroad that Tobias Ellwood was given by a local charity a couple of years ago. Has he declared the taxable benefit on that?

David Cameron has said that 'politicians have a duty to listen and respond to public anger over expenses'
so can we expect Mr, Ellwood to repay the £5.800 spent on redecorating and recarpeting the Boscombe Conservative Club ?

And the, if I recall correctly, the £250.00 for trade mark registration that is in his expenses according to the Telegraph website.

What on earth was that for? And should we, the tax payer have paid it??

Ellwood is a crook, and he has only been elected once !!!!! Imagine future years, if he is continually re-elected in his safe tory seat, how much he is going to fiddle us out of.

With so many MPs paying money back, do they think that the public is stupid enough to think that they (the MPs) had made errors in their claims? There is obviously a culture within the Government to squeeze the public as much as possible - hence why so many MPs are so wealthy, while the rest of us are stuggling more each day.

We get moans galore about greedy MP'S,but how about so called charities, especially those that collect at car boots etc.I have seen collecting for cats in Kuwait, dogs in Athens, little fishies rescue?,tombolas run at £1 a time with a very cheap gift if your lucky, and how many winning tickets are in the bin ?.The public are so misled they really think they are helping animals, when a pound in a cancer or hospital charity box would be better spent or even give it to RSPCA.
