Gang show boosts fund

2:00pm Saturday 29th November 2008

SCOUTS and Guides have boosted their appeal for a new hut thanks to a traditional gang show.

More than 100 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows, Brownies and Guides took part in the event at Wareham Middle School and boosted the coffers to the tune of another £1,000.

Fundraising is going well, with £160,000 of the £250,000 needed now in the bank.

Members of the Scouts and Guides also arranged a walk from Corfe Castle to Creech Barrow, raising more than £600 for Macmillan Cancer Relief.

Next year district commissioner Angela Salter is taking part in a walk up to the Mount Everest base camp and she will be sponsored in aid of the new hut appeal.
