DORSET libraries are celebrating the Do Something Different! fortnight as part of the National Year of Reading 2008.
The festival of events showcases the vast range of free activities that take place in libraries across the country throughout the year.
The festival runs until November 1 with lots of fascinating free events for all the family planned across Dorset’s libraries.
People can enjoy some fun and games with skittles or Giant Jenga at Littlemoor Library, Weymouth on Monday, while at Bridport Library that afternoon there will be a demonstration of the art of calligraphy.
There will be a chance to talk to the animals when Zoolab brings giant land snails and frogs into Crossways Library on Wednesday.
Dorset Library Service’s senior reading and learning manager Sharon Kirk-patrick said: “These events coincide with the half term break and offer opportunities to entertain, inspire and encourage young children, teens and parents to join their local library.”
