AN INDEPENDENT farm shop at Lytchett Matravers has reached the finals of a prestigious awards scheme.
Goldy's, which grows much of the produce it sells and supports local producers, is up against just three other farm retailers across the UK for a prize in the Own and Local Award at the Farm Retail Awards.
In the newcomer category, Goldy's, which opened last year, goes up against seven others, with the winners being announced in November.
The shop has already been recognised for its environmental credentials, with its wind turbines and solar panels winning accolades.
Owner Jenny Goldsack said: "We are over the moon to have made it to the finals of this year's awards. Although the business is relatively young, we do not let that limit our aspirations to provide quality food and a unique and pleasurable experience for our customers.
"Running a farm shop is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference to how people live, and to support small businesses."
