BRIDPORT fire crews were called to a lorry on fire on the A35 near the East Road roundabout.
Within five minutes two retained crews from the nearby fire station arrived on the scene at about 6.45pm yesterday to find an 18 tonne lorry with its brakes over-heating.
Firefighters got to work with one hosereel jet to extinguish and cool the brakes.
A small amount of fire damage was caused to the wheel hub of the vehicle.
There were some traffic delays in the area while the incident was dealt with.
