FIREFIGHTERS attended a barn fire at a farm near Maiden Newton this morning.

Five pumps and a water carrier from various fire stations attended the fire at Chantmarle Farm after it broke out shortly after 6am.

A spokesperson for Dorset Fire and Rescue said: "The fire was in a barn but a number of sheep and lambs were saved.

"Unfortunately the barn was quite badly damaged."

Two crews attended from Dorchester Fire Station, one from Beaminster, and one from Maiden Newton.

One crew from Yeovil and a water carrier also attended.
