Charity walk in Poole cancelled due to low numbers

THE Starlight Stroll charity walk has been postponed and will not go ahead on Saturday night.

Organisers for the Lewis-Manning Hospice fundraiser only had 20 people interested compared to their usual numbers of more than 150 and have set a new date of June 21.

Maria Tidy, fundraising manager, said they believe the weather has affected the numbers and they will celebrate the hospice’s 21st birthday with a walk from whitecliff Park at 9pm on the new date, seeing the sun set at 21.21 hours.

She said all those registered have already been contacted.
