Make the most of this morning's sunshine - because the rain is coming back with a vengeance.

Any hopes that spring might finally be here to stay have been dashed by a Met Office weather warning for Thursday and Friday, warning of widespread heavy rain and possible flooding across the county.

The warning reads: "Persistent rain is expected to set in during Thursday, lasting until well into Friday in many areas, and particularly heavy over hills exposed to the south and southeast. Some improvement seems likely later on Friday, but still with localised heavy showers.

"The public should be aware that this may cause some localised issues with flooding.  An active frontal system, struggling to bring milder air into the south of the country, is expected to bring 20-30 mm of rainfall quite widely, and  possibly in excess of 50 mm to some hilly districts.

"Given that recent rain and showers have made things quite wet again, this seems likely to lead to some impacts."

The heavy rain is forecast to arrive at lunchtime on Thursday, with 18.2mm forecast across the county and just 0.1 hours of sunshine. Winds look set to reach 34mph.

The met office are totally useless and unable to predict the afternoon's weather let alone a day in advance so it'll probably be a nice day tomorrow or we'll all wake up to 3ft of snow.

I don't know why you are all complaining about the weather in the UK.
I live in central Thailand where it is also winter and we have only had 33 mm of rain so far this YEAR.
Sunshine is different, we have loads of that. Most mornings it is a nice cool 25 rising to 37 or 38 by mid afternoon.
I would gladly swap a weeks sunshine for a week of heavy rain.
We have had no government water supply for over a week now and may not get any for another 3 or 4 weeks. We do have storage tanks but they are down to 60% left.
