Drug haul in Fortuneswell after police investigate burglary

POLICE have uncovered a cannabis factory on Portland.

Two men are helping police with inquiries following the find at premises in Fortuneswell.

Dorset Police said the discovery was made following inquiries relating to a burglary, committed at a different address.

A spokesman said: “On March 13, a 31-year-old man from Portland was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

“As a result of this arrest, police carried out a search of premises in Fortuneswell and a cannabis factory was discovered.”

The spokesman said a 48-year-old man and a 37-year-old man, both from Portland have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.

The 31-year-old arrested in relation to the burglary has been released on police bail until the end of March. The two men arrested in relation to the cannabis factory remain in custody helping with officers with their investigation.
