£1m was yours had I won lottery jackpot, says Poole council leader

POOLE council leader Cllr Elaine Atkinson bought a lottery ticket for the Euro Millions and pledged to give cash-strapped Borough of Poole £1million if she won the £27m jackpot.

Cllr Atkinson regularly buys one of the lottery tickets to celebrate a family birthday.

Unfortunately for the council taxpayer, her numbers did not come up in the lottery draw.

It is easy to say what you would do if you won the lottery. I have said that I would buy a lifeboat. That is no more likely than Elaine Atkinson giving £1,000,000 to Poole Council. They would only waste it on more stupid schemes anyway.
