25 new jobs at Harry Ramsdens

BOURNEMOUTH'S Harry Ramsden's seafront restaurant will create 25 new jobs as the peak season approaches, it has been announced.
The restaurant near the pier said the jobs would be full and part-time.
It is holding a recruitment day on Monday, where jobs up for grabs include waiting and kitchen staff.
The chain said it already employed 120 staff, but was beefing up its roll ahead of what it hopes will be a busy summer.
Mike Glancy, operations director, said: “We are due to embark upon phase two of a massive investment in the restaurant within the next couple of months, which will further increase capacity from 230 to 350 covers.
“With that in mind, we want to ensure that our service standards remain as high as ever. In order to achieve this, the recruitment of 25 per cent more staff is absolutely vital.”
Operational development manager Carly Mellowship added: “We are looking for staff of all ages, but will be most interested in those with cheery and outgoing personalities, because while great food is a given, when it is prepared and served by friendly, welcoming staff, it always enhances a visit to Harry Ramsden's in Bournemouth.”

The smell of Fish and Chips alienates people from the beach?
Here was me thinking that fish and chips on the beach was one of Britains famous traditions.

Here was me thinking that fish and chips on the beach was one of Britains famous traditions.
Now if it was Nardinis (in Largs, Scotland .... anyone been there?), that would be another matter ... Brilliant fish & chips, pizzas, amazing icecream (art deco, pianist, Lloyds Loom chairs). That WOULD be an asset.

More low paid jobs that will be filled by the Eu immigrants. The locals don't want to know as they get much more money on benefits

But the smell of cooking oil walking down the cliff is over-powering. Not quite the exhilarating smell of sea water I expect.
The business may attract many people, but I suspect it alienates many more from this part of the beach.
These mega eateries would be better replaced with smaller independently run cafes and restaurants offering good food and choice.
