Police appeal after alleged assault in Weymouth

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was allegedly headbutted during an altercation in Weymouth town centre.

A 24-year-old woman from the local area was headbutted after a verbal altercation with two unknown women, and suffered an injury to her nose, police said.

Police Constable Simon Anderson, of Weymouth Police, said: "This attack has left the victim with a nasty facial injury.

"It is believed the woman that committed the assault got into a taxi and fled the scene immediately after the incident."

He added: "I am urging anyone who saw this assault take place or who has information about those involved to contact police as soon as possible in confidence."

The incident took place at around 4.50am on Sunday, February 3, outside the HSBC bank on St Mary's Street.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police on 101.

Maybe lucky enough to be caught on CCTV.
Now the council has decided to cut back on this service, unfortunately, these headlines will become more common.

Why not ask the taxi driver? Can't be that difficult to trace who was working at 4.50 am on Sunday morning.
