DORSET COUNTY Council is set to freeze its share of the council tax for a third year running.

Members of the authority’s cabinet will be asked to recommend that the council tax remains at its current level for the 2013/14 financial year.

A report prepared for members by chief financial officer Paul Kent states that the move will see the council receive a £2.036m freeze grant from central Government.

The current charge for a mid range Band D property is £1,168.29.

A final decision on the council tax and the rest of the authority’s budget will be taken at a full council meeting on February 14.

Residents in Swanage enjoy paying about £400 a year more than in Poole for the equivalent house so i'm not really bothered about this freeze......
