High winds blow hoarding into traffic

HIGH winds caused the temporary closure of Lansdowne Road last night as police were called to help remove hoarding which had blown off Cranborne House into the road.

A road block was put in place between Oxford Road and Coach House Place while the hoarding was removed.

No one was injured.

Well worth the read. Old Bill doing something useful for a change. Wonder they didn't close the road for several hours to mark and measure how and where said hoarding fell.

Probably 3 armed response vehicles. 4 other assorted vehicles. With 10 policemen and 5 pcso. Later will come scenes of crime and no doubt family liason officers and all the rest of the hangers on.

No doubt they fined 10 random motorists who were waiting for them to re-open the road just because they haven't scored enough points for fining motorists this week,

For all of you people thinking that material blowing into a road is not newsworthy a pedestrian was killed in London yesterday when a loose sign was blown down on top of him!

Didn't the same thing happen shortly after the building opened? You would have thought a more sturdy structure would be in place.
