A DORCHESTER teen has become the star of a new film to encourage other young people to take up creative apprenticeships.
Lydia Cobb, studio assistant and advanced apprentice in creative and digital media at Seven Springs Studios in Dorchester, shared her story in a National Apprenticeship Service film which was launched today.
Lydia, aged 19, said: “My apprenticeship gave me one of the best possible starts in the photography industry – the experience has proved invaluable.
“The creative industry is incredibly broad in terms of the type of job you could end up doing so an apprenticeship is a great way to explore what’s on offer.
“I would definitely encourage more young people to think about doing an apprenticeship.”
