Police talk man down from Portland cliff top

Coastguards assisted police in talking a man down from jumping from Black Nor Point.
Dorset Police request help with local knowledge from the Portland coastguards and the Portland Bill coastguard rescue team were sent to assist.
They helped the police to get to the man, who was sitting on the edge of a crumbling cliff top at Black Nor Point, Portland threatening to jump.
The rescue helicopter from Solent was also sent to the scene but was stood down once a police negotiator had managed to talk the man back from the cliff top late yesterday night. (Fri 11)
