Thieves target cars on Portland

RESIDENTS are being urged to be on the alert after a spate of car crime on Portland.
Police say three vehicles have been broken into and items stolen from inside between Friday and Saturday.
Another car, an Audi parked on Knightsdale Road in Weymouth, was also targeted on Thursday.
A debit card was swiped from a Citroen ZX on Montrose Close on Portland between midnight and 3.30am on Saturday.
Thieves swiped a pair of binoculars from the glove box of a Renault Scenic parked in Rufus Way between 10.30pm on Friday and 11.30am on Saturday.
Another car, a red Mazda, was broken into on Weston Road at 2.45am and CDs were stolen from inside.
Les Fry, inspector for Weymouth and Portland, said: “We are urging anyone who witnessed anything or has information to contact us on 101.
“Residents should take care to lock their cars and remove all valuables.”
