Dorset Police welcome integrity report

DORSET Police have welcomed a report issued by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary which has assessed the way the force identifies, monitors and manages integrity issues.

The HMIC reviewed all 43 forces in England and Wales as part of the Without Fear and Favour report in 2011. This year the HMIC has revisited all forces and has now released a follow-up report.

Deputy Chief Constable Adrian Whiting said: “As acknowledged by the report, we have made several changes within the last year.

“These include improvements to our register of gifts and hospitality – which now records refusals of hospitality – and continued work to ensure that we better identify business interests, second jobs and links with suppliers or potential suppliers.

“The force has also reviewed its guidance to staff regarding the use of social media sites.

“Integrity is a key value for Dorset Police and we will continue to build upon this work.”

So by 'Integrity' are they really talking about the chance for fraud?

While most of us wish to see a better police force, this would be no good if we still have week sentencing.
