A SPECIAL Zumba event will take place in Bournemouth this weekend to raise money for Macmillan Unit at Christchurch Hospital.

Organised by local instructor Sharon Rodgers, who runs the fun dance classes in Christchurch and New Milton , the event will take place on Saturday at the BIC.

Tickets for the two-hour class, which will run from 2pm-4pm, are available from the BIC, with funds raised going towards the running of the facility at Christchurch.

Sharon, along with some of her fellow instructors will be setting-up routines for people to follow with participants also entertained by the Zambezi Express Hot Sizzling Dance Musical Troupe.

Sharon said: “I really want to raise a lot of money for Macmillan and wanted to do it in a fun way, which people will take part in.

“I’d love to get lots of people there on Saturday – it’s for everyone.

“We all know someone who has battled cancer and Macmillan does such an amazing job caring for people.

“I really hope local people get behind this and that we can raise lots of money for the charity. This is my first big event I’ve organised so it would be great to see lots of people support it.”
