A STUNT horserider broke the world record for launching himself on and off a galloping horse in 30 seconds.
As previously reported in the Echo, rider Niall Jacob, 28, mounted and dismounted his striding steed a whopping eight times – taking less than four seconds per manoeuvre.
Niall, from Stansted, Essex, used techniques from the Russian circus to vault over his horse, leaping over its back with two feet together.
He landed momentarily in the saddle eight times before sliding off gracefully to land with feet together again. He has been practising for the record attempt since last November and finally beat it at Lulworth Castle. He is now awaiting the official verification from the Guinness Book of Records, after sending video evidence of his record-breaking achievement to them.
Niall is a member of Horses Impossible, a team of stunt riders who have starred in films including First Knight, The Clash of the Titans, Van Helsing and Russell Crowe's Robin Hood.
They spend their summers at the castle, performing jousting tournaments for visitors as the "Knights of Lulworth".
Niall said: "I'm really pleased with what we achieved and am now eagerly waiting to hear from Guinness."
